Safadi’s comments came in a speech at a festivity organized at the
Professional Associations complex Saturday. The activity was entitled
“Supporting
Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem Sanctuaries” on the 74th anniversary of
the Nakba.
Referring to the Palestinian people’s steadfastness and sacrifices,
he declared that
Jerusalem is the “eternal capital of Palestine”.
The 74th anniversary of the
Nakba documents the biggest crime that
humanity has witnessed, including displacement, killing civilians, and land
confiscation until the present day, he pointed out.
Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership, will continue defending
and supporting the Palestinian people until they achieve their legitimate
rights on their land by establishing their independent Palestinian state with
Jerusalem as its capital, Safdai insisted.
For his part, Secretary General of the
Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs, Abdullah Kanaan, said Jerusalem is “our compass and our
first story. The holy city will remain the Palestinian Arab Islamic capital.”
On the sidelines of the event, Safadi inaugurated a Jerusalem
exhibition, under the theme: “Eternal capital of Palestine,” and the father of
Jordanian prisoner, Osaid Abu Khdeir, was honored.
