In a statement, Mhaidat stressed that the JFDA applies international standards in partnership with national organizations to ensure food safety, noting that the quantities that were destroyed came after merchants asked the administration to inspect their warehouses before distributing these goods in the markets.

Regarding what was published in the last few days over permitting the import of non-compliant materials, he indicated that about 70-75 percent of these materials are production inputs, and they are under control.
