In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Sufian Al-Qudah explained that, in response to widespread social media attention regarding Batayneh’s case, the Ministry promptly contacted his family to gather the necessary information. He expressed relief that Batayneh had been handed over to his father by Jordanian security forces earlier today.
Al-Qudah also shared that Bataineh, who had been missing since 1986 at the age of 18, was found in a severely compromised state, unconscious and suffering from memory loss after spending 38 years in captivity.
