In a statement, Ambassador Dr. Sufian Al-Qudah, the ministry's official spokesperson, underscored the decision's importance, granting jurisdiction to consider Israel's genocide in Gaza. Immediate procedural measures have been approved to halt Israel's crimes against Palestinians, including killing, physical and mental harm, and creating living conditions aimed at destruction while ensuring humanitarian needs.
The spokesperson emphasized the urgency of implementing these measures to stop the killing of innocents in Gaza and the destruction of their lives. Israeli aggression has claimed over 26,000 Palestinian lives, displaced a third of the population, and denied them essential rights to food, water, medicine, and services.
Jordan appreciates the efforts of the friendly Republic of South Africa and its support for the lawsuit, as expressed by the official spokesperson. He stressed the international community's urgent need to act and stop the Israeli aggression, addressing the resulting humanitarian catastrophe—a blatant violation of international law, humanitarian principles, and a disregard for legal, ethical, and humanitarian boundaries.
