officials.

The purpose of the visit is to discuss bilateral relations
and find solutions to the ongoing Syrian crisis, reported by the Jordan News
Agency, Petra.
Jordan's position on the Syrian crisis
In a recent statement, Safadi emphasized that Jordan has
been severely affected by the Syrian crisis and criticized the prevailing
international approach, which he believes has primarily focused on managing the
crisis rather than seeking a comprehensive resolution.
To address the challenges faced by Jordan and the Syrian
people, Jordan has formulated a new initiative that has garnered support from
Arab nations.
The initiative includes reintegrating Syria into the Arab
community, seeking a solution to the crisis, supporting internal Syrian
reconciliation, and mitigating the challenges and risks faced by neighboring
countries, particularly Jordan.
These challenges encompass drug trafficking, security
threats, and the repercussions of the Syrian refugee crisis, further compounded
by diminishing international support for host countries.
Optimism for constructive solutions
Safadi expressed optimism about the Syrian government's
willingness to comply with the requirements of the Arab initiative to resolve
the crisis.
He highlighted the ongoing dialogues and efforts of the Arab
Coordination Committee with the Syrian government to implement the commitments
outlined in the Amman statement, which followed the Arab Summit in Jeddah.
Safadi expressed satisfaction with the positive response
received from the Syrian government regarding Jordan's efforts and expressed
hope for constructive solutions between the two sides to make progress in
addressing the repercussions of the crisis that have persisted for the past 12
years. He also acknowledged the concerted efforts made by His Majesty King
Abdullah and Jordanian diplomacy in promoting the Jordanian approach to
resolving the Syrian crisis.
Challenges Faced by Jordan
Safadi underscored
the significant burdens imposed by the Syrian refugee issue on Jordan,
including strain on infrastructure, services, healthcare, education, and
employment opportunities.
Furthermore, international support and response regarding
the refugee crisis and the host countries have significantly declined. Jordan
continues to urge the international community to fulfill its commitments and
provide the necessary support.
