AMMAN — The Petroleum Derivatives Pricing Committee at the
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced a reduction in the price of
oil derivatives considering the decrease in global prices in December, Ammon News
reported.

The price of diesel will decrease in January by 75 fils, bringing it
to 820 fils per liter instead of 895 fils per liter. Meanwhile, the price of kerosene
will decrease by 75 fils bringing it to 785 fils per liter instead of 860 fils.
Gasoline octane 90 and 95 were also reduced. Octane 90 was reduced
by 20 fils to cost 900 fils per liter instead of 920 fils per liter, while
octane 95 was reduced by 30 fils, bringing it to 1140 fils per liter.
The committee also decided to maintain the price of the gas
cylinder at the price of JD7 per cylinder.
The committee’s decision came during its monthly meeting held on
Saturday, December 31, to set prices for the sale of domestic oil derivatives
for the month of January. World prices for crude oil and petroleum derivatives
were reviewed in December and compared to November.
The committee's decisions found that the rate of oil derivatives
prices fell globally during December and therefore approved prices for the
month of January.
