AMMAN — President of Jordan Constitutional Court (JCC) Hisham Al-Tal on
Wednesday received German Ambassador to Amman Bernhard Kampmann, who expressed
his country’s interest in enhanced cooperation with Jordan on constitutional
matters and the exchange of visits and meetings between the two countries’
concerned institutions. Also present at the meeting was Director of Jordan
Projects at Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and the Rule of Law
Siraj Khan.
During the meeting, Tal reviewed the
development of Jordan's constitutional life, lauding Germany's openness to
joint cooperation with the JCC, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The meeting came on the sidelines of a
joint symposium held by the JCC and the Max Planck Foundation, entitled:
"The Role of the Constitutional Court in the Constitutional and Legal
System", which tackled interwoven work mechanisms of constitutional courts
and the judicial system and impact of these courts' mandatory verdicts,
according to a JCC statement.
