According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Labor Saturday, the meeting was organized by the German Chamber of Crafts in the state of Münster, in the presence of the owners of the companies, who recruit the Jordanian youth.

Discussions went over Jordanian youth's experiences, their initial impressions, and the challenges facing them until their arrival in Germany, training and recruitment at German establishments, the statement pointed out.

The project, which comes in parallel with German-Jordanian Center's mission, aimed to facilitate worker movement, and seeks to offer advisory services to Jordanian job seekers in Germany on the procedures and requirements necessary to work in Germany.

The first five Jordanians joined the dual vocational training program in Germany as part of the 'Partnerships for development oriented labour migration' (PAM) project, an enterprise implemented by the German and Jordanian competent bodies.

The Jordanian youth gain extensive practical experience under the German dual vocational training system, within the German crafts sector, as five beneficiaries joined the apprenticeship program in Germany as of August 1, and 2 more others are expected to join at the beginning of October.

The statement added that their training will continue over the next 3½ years, noting that the target number of the project is 300 Jordanians.

The project aims to train Jordanian youth under a dual vocational training program, which features the theoretical aspect of studying at vocational education institutes in Germany.

Then, the youth receive practical training under employment contracts signed with private sector companies in Germany's crafts sector after passing the required German language levels and obtaining a vocational training visa.

The project targets 3 sectors required in the German labor market: Electricity with a focus on renewable energy, maintenance of electric and hybrid vehicles, and food industries (bakery industry), which enhances the chances of obtaining work in the crafts field in Germany.

Currently, 145 Jordanian men and women are taking specialized courses in the German language at vocational training institutes in Jordan, and those who pass the required tests will be eligible to travel to Germany early next year.
