The Minister of Investment, Eng. Mothna Gharaiba, and the Minister of Environment, Dr. Maawiya Radaideh, confirmed the government's commitment to finding innovative solutions to stimulate and enable investments while maintaining sustainable environmental standards in various projects.

This statement came during a field visit by the two ministers to several industrial investments in King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein Industrial City on Sunday, where they met with investors to enhance communication and deepen the partnership between the public and private sectors to improve the investment environment in the Kingdom.

The meeting was attended by several members of Parliament from the area, members of the Amman Governorate Council from the Sahaab District, along with the Chairman of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir, CEO of the Jordan Industrial Cities Company, Omar Jwaid, local community representatives, and many investors in the Sahaab Industrial City.

In his remarks, Gharaiba explained that the purpose of these visits was to hear directly from the investors about the challenges they face and work on finding innovative solutions to facilitate the continuity and expansion of investment projects. He highlighted several plans aimed at simplifying procedures and developing policies that support investment, adding that cooperation between government entities and investors will enhance Jordan’s ability to attract investments. He emphasized that the Ministry of Investment’s goal is to serve and empower investment projects, and that the ministry’s doors are open to listen to the suggestions and recommendations of investors, which will be taken seriously.

Regarding the issue of the wastewater treatment plant in King Abdullah II Industrial City in Sahaab, the Minister of Investment confirmed that the government will work on solving this issue in collaboration with the concerned authorities during this year, in response to the demands of the residents affected by environmental pollution in the area.

For his part, Minister of Environment, Dr. Maawiya Radaideh, referred to the Ministry's role in following up on all environmental issues in Sahaab City in cooperation with relevant authorities through the follow-up and inspection committee. He emphasized that the Ministry is intensifying its monitoring to address and follow up on environmental challenges.

Radaideh praised the role of industry and trade in strengthening the Jordanian economy, stressing the necessity for all factories to apply environmental standards in their activities and to cooperate in reducing environmental pollution. He pointed out that protecting the environment requires national efforts from all concerned entities and factories.

He also emphasized that the Ministry, through its supervisory and regulatory role, monitors environmental violations and communicates with the relevant authorities to rectify these violations to protect the health of workers in industrial facilities and residents of surrounding areas.

Radaideh further clarified that the Ministry of Environment always seeks to enhance cooperation with relevant parties to achieve sustainable development and protect the environment.

The Chairman of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir, confirmed that supporting national industry contributes to increasing its exports and creating more job opportunities for Jordanians, thereby helping reduce unemployment in the Kingdom. He highlighted the importance of such meetings that bring together ministers and relevant officials with industrial companies to directly address their problems and concerns.

The CEO of the Jordan Industrial Cities Company, Omar Jwaid, highlighted the significant role of King Abdullah II Industrial City in Sahaab, with over 413 industrial investments operating, amounting to an investment size of over one billion dinars, creating nearly 15,000 job opportunities. He also emphasized the city's growing contributions to national exports.

Jwaid explained that since the establishment of King Abdullah II Industrial City, the Jordan Industrial Cities Company has spared no effort in its plans and strategies to provide all necessary supporting services, especially in upgrading the wastewater treatment plant in partnership with investors, as well as continuous development plans for all aspects of the city's operations.

The meeting concluded with the ministers listening to the demands of the investors, with an emphasis on the government's commitment to solving the problems they face to support the investment environment.
