AMMAN— On Sunday, Prime Minister
Bisher Al-Khasawneh announced that the government has allocated funds from emergency
expenses to stabilize commodity prices in consumer markets until the end of
Ramadan, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

During the inauguration of sessions on
economic performance and the challenges of the current phase, focusing on the
executive program of the
Economic Modernization Vision (EMV), Khasawneh
emphasized that the government has enhanced regulatory tools in the markets,
particularly ahead of Ramadan, to regulate prices and maintain their natural
levels.
Furthermore, Khasawneh affirmed that Jordan’s
inventory of strategic commodities is sufficient, adding that the government,
in collaboration with the private sector, has taken additional precautions in
the inventory of strategic and basic commodities. He also mentioned that
efforts to increase the storage capacity of strategic commodities will
continue.
The Prime Minister also clarified that the
government has established price caps for containers to estimate and calculate
customs duties, maintaining them at pre-October 6, 2023 levels until the end of
Ramadan.
