AMMAN — Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Makram Al-Qaisi,
stated that the government is ready to collaborate with the Egyptian Ministry
of Tourism and the
Coptic Orthodox Church in implementing joint programs to aid
Christian pilgrims, emphasizing support for Coptic brethren in Egypt and
globally, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

This comes on the heels of the Minister's meeting with a
delegation from the Coptic Orthodox Church, headed by Deputy Bishop Michael and
His Holiness Pope Tawadros, along with their accompanying delegation currently
in Jordan. The meeting follows the recent visit of HRH Crown Prince Hussein to
Egypt, where he held discussions with
Pope Tawadros.
Qaisi emphasized that the ministry will establish a
follow-up team led by the Secretary-General, Imad Hijazin, tasked with
developing a vision for a bilateral agreement and determining a timeline for
its signing.
For his part, the bishop expressed his pride in visiting
Jordan and the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to him and the
accompanying delegation. He affirmed that the future of cooperation with Jordan
is auspicious and fruitful, highlighting the harmonious coexistence observed
between the
Muslim and Christian communities in Jordan.
He further commended the establishment of a ministry team
for follow-up, underscoring its dedication to swiftly implementing joint
programs.
