AMMAN
— The Lower House is in uproar due to the government's recent stance on two
controversial issues, according to a local media outlet. The issues involve
medical exemptions and the suspension of representative Abdul Rahman
Al-Awaysha, who verbally attacked the
Minister of Justice.

The
government has taken a hardline approach on both issues,
rejecting several settlements with representatives, claiming it wants to maintain the
"logical and reasonable" limits of the council's institution.
Representatives
are dissatisfied with the government's approach and claim to have been
completely ignored when it comes to agreed-upon procedures on these two issues.
They believe the hardline stance has caused discord, confusion, and frustration
among them.
Awaysha's suspension for four months, as a result of his verbal attack, has further
fueled tensions. He is the fourth member of the council to be punished for
behavioral issues.
