In an interview with Jordan TV on the occasion of the celebration of the Kingdom’s 76th Independence Day, Shboul, who is the official spokesman for the government, said that the celebration this year takes a special character because it coincides with the bicentenary of the state.

He added that “the new centenary of the state is based on many tracks, including political reform, which began with a clear Royal vision through modernizing the political system, and adopting the elections and political parties laws and the constitutional amendments related to them.

He added that the political reform package gave young people a key role in terms of reducing the age of candidacy for elections, and increasing their representation in political parties.

Shboul said that “there are two parallel tracks, namely economic reform and administrative modernization,” explaining that the government will launch a package that constitutes a clear vision of the economic track during the coming period, including the new investment bill.

On administrative reforms, Shboul indicated that the economic projects that the government will announce require administrative leverage and the modernization and development of state agencies and their workers through the integration of institutions and ministries.

Shbul pointed to the challenge facing the kingdom’s northeastern borders, saying: “We are starting to see a new war of terrorism and drug smuggling pressing on our borders,” stressing Jordan’s ability to address such challenge.
