AMMAN — A delegation of officials from Qatari and Emirati trade chambers, who had participated in the Jordan-Gulf Cooperation Council Economic Forum, visited the Queen Alia International Airport's (
QAIA) free zone, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The Jordan Free and Development Zones Group (JFDZG), which organized the visit, also partook in the two-day forum that commenced on 27 September. The Jordan Chamber of Commerce organized the event in collaboration with the Federation of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Chambers and with the support of the Gulf Cooperation Council Secretariat General.
The delegation looked firsthand at investment opportunities, projects, and establishments.
The JFDZG Director General Abdul Hamid Gharaibeh gave a briefing on economic indicators of Jordan's free and development zones, pointing to tourism investment opportunities at the Dead Sea and Ajloun's development zones.
Gharaibeh also described the QAIA's free zone as an environment perfect for various economic activities in industry and commerce, adding that its location (near the air freight airport) ensures that medicines and food will be rapidly shipped.
The delegation was also given tours of TAG Tech, which manufactures laptops, tablets, and mobile phones, and Eon Dental, which manufactures orthodontic appliances.
