of the Jordan Insurance Federation (JIF), addressed the issue of compensation
for vehicles damaged by hail or categorized as a natural disaster under
third-party insurance policies.

Smairat clarified that such vehicles are exempt from
compensation.
Speaking to Al-Mamlaka TV on Monday, Smairat emphasized that
when it comes to hail damage or incidents classified as natural disasters, the
insurance policy acts as the foundation for determining compensation between
the vehicle owner and the insurance company.
Under these circumstances, the affected parties should not
expect to receive compensation for the damages.
Coverage variation in comprehensive insurance policies
Regarding comprehensive insurance, Smairat further explained
that coverage for natural disasters varies depending on the terms outlined in
the insurance contract.
Some policies provide comprehensive coverage for such
events, while others do not. Therefore, it is crucial for policyholders to
review their specific insurance agreements to understand the extent of coverage
for hail-related damages.
Recent hailstorms damaged numerous vehicles in various areas
of Amman. The severe weather conditions caused shattered glass and inflicted
damage on different parts of the affected vehicles.
