Travel and Tourism Agents.

Rubin described the prices as
"insane”, according to a local media outlet.
Cutting costsRubin added that companies expressed
concern over the weak demand for umra trips during Ramadan.
According to him, the cost of a land
umra trip during Ramadan is expected to range from JD330 to JD350 for quad
rooms.
He added that companies are
minimizing their stay in Mecca and only passing through Medina as part of their
programs to make prices more affordable for citizens.
Rubin has attributed the high prices
of
hajj and umrah trips to the weak demand from Jordanians, as well as the high
prices of hotels in Medina and Mecca, which are reflected in the prices of
trips in Jordan.
Proposal to increase distance of accommodationThe Jordan Society of Travel and
Tourism Agents has proposed to the Ministry of Awqaf to increase the distance
of Jordanian pilgrims' accommodation from the Haram by about 200m to 250m, in
order to save around JD700 from the cost of hajj trips.
The Ministry of Awqaf confirmed
earlier that the number of Jordanian pilgrims for this year will return to what
it was before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
The ministry said that the number of
Jordanian pilgrims for this year will be 8,000.
