Despite the significant challenges faced in delivering aid after the closure of border crossings and the suspension of Jordanian aid convoys more than a month ago, Jordan's efforts to deliver support have not ceased.
The Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization has worked on using alternatives and solutions to ensure the continuation of humanitarian interventions, in partnership with local organizations inside Gaza, to ensure that affected families are not abandoned.
Jordan continues its relentless efforts to open the crossings and deliver aid through diplomatic communication and pressure with the relevant international bodies, recognizing the suffering endured by civilians in the sector and the desperate need of the residents for food, medicine, and basic life essentials.
As part of its commitment to ensuring that aid reaches the people on various occasions, the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization implemented several humanitarian initiatives during Eid al-Fitr, targeting affected families in Gaza.
The initiatives included distributing Eid clothing to children, Eid sweets to families, providing cash gifts to children, and distributing Zakat al-Fitr to over 4,300 needy families, in collaboration with local organizations inside the sector, to alleviate the burdens and bring joy to the faces of children and families on this occasion.
Dr. Hussein Al-Shibli, Secretary-General of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, said, "Despite the great challenges and the halt of the convoys, our commitment to our brothers in Gaza has not and will not stop. We have been able to reach more than 1,566,144 beneficiaries inside the sector."
He added, "We are working in every possible way to deliver aid, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Jordan's firm stance in supporting the Palestinian people by all available means. During the period of closed crossings, the organization was able to prepare and distribute over 220,000 food meals, provide clean water, and supply Eid necessities to many families."
Jordan's efforts remain a testament to a genuine humanitarian and ethical position that reflects the strong fraternal relationship between the Jordanian and Palestinian peoples, reaffirming that Jordan's support for Gaza is not conditional but a continuous commitment until the crisis ends and life returns to normal.
