In a statement the ministry on Wednesday said that the meeting was attended by
a number of representatives of international bodies in Jordan, including the
WHO,
UNRWA, UNICEF, the
International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the
United Nation Population Fund (UNFPA).
During the meeting, Al-Hawari hailed efforts made by Pedersen and the representatives
of international institutions, who contributed to implementing many projects in
healthcare and developing this sector, stressing that Jordan and the UN
maintain cooperation to reach the largest coverage for
refugees in the Kingdom.
For his part, Pedersen reviewed the most prominent areas of cooperation with
Jordan in the health domain, mainly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the talks, the UN side agreed to continue coordination and cooperation
with the ministry within specific priorities, the most important of which is
providing medical and primary healthcare services to reach comprehensive health
coverage, and deal with non-communicable diseases, in addition to encouraging
people to take the COVID-19 vaccine, the statement said.
