According to the plan, which was prepared by all ministry stakeholders, a
strategic reserve of medicine, serums, vaccines, and medical supplies will be available
across the Kingdom, the statement said.
The plan will also ensure that backup power generators and vehicles, especially
ambulances, and means of communication are ready to cope with demand by
potential patients in inclement weather conditions.
A committee will work permanently to inform operating rooms, supply health centers
with needed technical supplies and provide medical and nursing staff, the
statement added.
The ministry’s plan is based on specific assumptions, tasks, duties and
procedures required at all levels of health care, and highlights the role of
coordination and cooperation with other institutions and ministries to preserving
the health and safety of citizens.
As part of its plan, the ministry allocated emergency phone numbers for
citizens' inquiries, which are run at the ministry's main operations center to
coordinate with committees and liaison officers in healthcare centers in
governorates and hospitals, and a hotline to contact the emergency operations
center.
