AMMAN — Health Minister Firas Hawari met with Syrian
counterpart in Geneva on Thursday to discuss cooperation in health, training,
and the pharmaceutical industry, according to a statement by the Ministry of
Health.

During the meeting, Syrian Health Minister Hassan Ghobash
commented on the collaborative efforts between the two countries and the
Kingdom’s assistance following the devasting earthquake that struck Syria in
February 2023, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
Hawari held the meeting on the sidelines of the Council of
Arab Health Ministers and the 76th session of the World Health Assembly.
He also had separate discussions with Iraqi Health Minister
Salih Hasnawi and Algerian Health Minister Abd al-Haq Sayhi.
The topics of these discussions included cooperation,
sharing of experiences in food and medicine, promotion of medical tourism, and
arrangements for monitoring the treatment of Iraqi and Algerian patients in
Jordan.
