AMMAN —
Minister of Health Firas Hawari held a series of meetings over the past two days while on a visit to the WHO
Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean in Cairo, to discuss support for
Jordan’s health sector, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

A Ministry of Health statement on Wednesday said
that Hawari is also scheduled to meet Regional Director of the World Health
Organization for the Eastern Mediterranean Ahmed Al Mandhari to discuss ways of
cooperation to develop the Kingdom’s health sector.
The talks are being held in the context of the 75th
World Health Assembly meetings, to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on May
22–28, and are the Jordanian delegation’s contribution to the WHO
decision-making body’s discussions, the statement said.
Hawari also signed the cooperation frameworks of the
Ministry of Health and Jordan
WHO office, with the two sides going over ways to
enhance WHO support for the Kingdom’s health sector.
