AMMAN —
Minister of Health, Firas Al-Hawari, announced that the
ministry has, for the "first time," launched a comprehensive bidding process
for the master plan of
Al-Bashir Hospital. The aim is a complete infrastructure
rehabilitation.

He elaborated that the Ministry has devised a
comprehensive
expansion plan. This encompasses the identification of structures
for treatment, ancillary services, and an expansion of training units,
Al-Mamlaka TV reported. He predicted that over the next seven years, the health
sector will see the addition of 2,000 new beds, spanning various sectors
including civil, military, and private.
Furthermore, he highlighted collaborative
efforts with the
Ministry of Public Works to advance bidding procedures for the
new Madaba Hospital project, designed with a capacity of 400 beds.
Additionally, a new 330-bed hospital on Airport Road is in the works, financed
by the
Saudi-Jordanian Investment Fund. This facility will include a
specialized children's hospital and outpatient clinics.
Al-Hawari also underlined the initiation of
the construction of a new military hospital with a capacity of 400 beds in
Zarqa governorate. Another military hospital in Ma'an, featuring 150 beds, is
also in the pipeline.
