AMMAN — The
Ministry of Health has
shared the details of its three-year (2023–2025) strategy aimed at expanding
and modernizing government hospitals, improving infrastructure management,
supply, and ensuring sustainability.

The plan, which will cost JD1.7
billion in total, includes several projects across the country, Al-Mamlaka TV
reported.
ExpansionsAs part of the strategy, the
ministry plans to expand the
Obstetrics and Gynecology building at Al-Bashir Hospital at a cost of JD10 million in partnership with the Ministry of Public
Works and Housing. The Burn unit at the hospital will also be expanded at a
cost of JD4.6 million, funded by the Kuwaiti Development Fund.
The Emergency and Ambulance building
at Prince Hussein Hospital will be expanded at a cost of JD2.5 million, and the
expansion will be completed by next year with a grant from the Kuwaiti
Development Fund in partnership with the
Ministry of Public Works and Housing.
The Emergency and Ambulance building
at
Princess Badea’a Hospital will be expanded at a cost of JD1.7 million, which
will be completed by 2025 with funding from the Ministry of Health budget and
the Kuwaiti Development Fund.
Heart services will be provided at
Princess Iman Hospital in Ajloun and Zarqa Government Hospital at a cost of JD3
million over three years, with funding from the joint grant fund. Jameel
AlTotangi Hospital in Sahab will also be expanded at a cost of JD1 million, to
be completed by 2025.
Additionally,
Princess Iman Hospital in Maadi will be expanded over three years at a cost of JD8 million, funded by
the Saudi Development Fund. Maan Government Hospital will be expanded in three
years, including the outpatient clinics, blood bank, and operations at a cost
of JD5 million from the Ministry of Health’s decentralized budget.
Nadeem Hospital will be expanded
over three years at a cost of JD1 million by the end of 2025, and
Prince Faisal Hospital will be expanded and modernized over two years at a cost of JD8
million during 2023-2024, funded by the Saudi Development Fund.
The Diagnosis and Disabilities
building in Irbid will be rehabilitated over two years at a cost of JD1 million
from the joint grant fund.
Pediatrics and
neonatal care units to be updatedThe strategy aims to expand and
update the Pediatrics and Neonatal Care units departments in hospitals, which
began last year and will be completed in 2025 at a cost of JD3 million, subject
to funding availability.
The capacity of the Nephrology
departments will also be increased at a cost of JD2.5 million dinars, funded by
the
Ministry of Health budget and a joint grant fund.
Funding SourcesFunding for the projects will come
from a variety of sources, including the Ministry of Health budget, the joint
grant fund, the Saudi Development Fund, and the
Kuwaiti Development Fund.
