AMMAN — Jordan News Agency, Petra,
reported that temperatures on Thursday will continue to soar 4-5 degrees above the
annual average for this time of the year in most areas of the Kingdom, bringing
scorching and dry weather conditions with northwesterly moderate winds,
according to the
Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

Over the weekend, the impact of the
heatwave
currently gripping the country will resume, so the weather remains hot with
clouds at medium and high altitudes in the southern and eastern regions.
The JMD warned people against direct exposure
to sunlight during peak hours.
On Sunday, the weather department forecast
mercury levels to drop slightly, but it will remain hot in most regions, while
sizzling conditions will prevail in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba,
according to Petra.
Today, the maximum and minimum temperatures in
Amman will range between 37°C and 24°C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a
searing 42°C,
dropping to 27°C during night hours.
