AMMAN —The hot air mass started affecting the Kingdom yesterday, will continue until next Sunday, pushing temperatures 4 to 5 degrees above their annual average, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Hot weather conditions are forecast in hilly areas and plains, while scorching conditions prevail in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and the port city of Aqaba.
Winds will be northwesterly moderate, picking up at times, the JMD noted.
The weather department warned of direct sun exposure and low visibility due to dust formation in the Badia regions.
Temperatures in the capital Amman will range between 36 degrees Celsius and a low of 24 degrees at night.
Highs in the port city of Aqaba will hike up to 42 degrees, sliding to 30 degrees at night.
