AMMAN — Hussein Halalat, a member of the board of Director
of the Jordan Hotels Association stated that the occupancy rate in Amman hotels
reached 95 percent occupancy, coinciding with the Royal wedding.

Meanwhile occupancy rates in the Dead Sea reached 85
percent, Petra with 66 percent, and Aqaba at 84 percent, Al-Mamlaka TV
reported.
While three-star hotels in Amman reached 60 percent
occupancy, followed by Petra at 39 percent, and Aqaba at 85 percent.
With the tourism sector in the Kingdom responsible for 14
percent of Jordan’s income, Halalat mentioned that there was a large presence
of European foreign tourists entering the Kingdom, in celebration of the Royal
Wedding.
Travelers entering Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport
(QAIA) were greeted with a special commemorative stamp titled “Celebrating Al
Hussein,” which honors the upcoming wedding ceremony of HRH Crown Prince
Hussein and Miss Rajwa Al Saif.
In a statement, Halalat said, “The initiatives of HRH Crown
Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II and his foundation for the tourism sector have
had a positive impact on the tourism industry…with about 600 hotels
currently."
In addition to the celebrations, the Royal Society for
Conservation of Nature also announced free entry for all of its reserves on the
occasion of the Royal Wedding.
The total hotel occupancy rates reached 78 percent.
