AMMAN — The
Lower House decided to set the number of
founding members for an newly established party at a minimum of 1,000 people, according
to Al-Ghad News.

The deputies also
decided that the founders should be residents of at least 6 governorates; at
least 30 persons from each governorate, and that the youth, aged from 18 to 35,
should not make up less than 10 percent of founders.
Deputies determined
the proportion of
women at a minimum of 10 percent of the number of founders,
in addition to at least one person of disability, and that not less than one
third of the founding members be present at the ‘founding’ conference.
The deputies also
approved the addition by the
legal committee, of a legal text calling for
increased participation of women and young people in the party, whereby no less
than 20 percent of founders are women and young people during the three years following
the party’s establishment.
