AMMAN — The head of the parliamentary administrative committee, Yazan Al-Shdeifat, said that the committee will recommend to the Cabinet "not to establish the General Service and Administration Authority and to keep the Civil Service Bureau and develop its tasks."اضافة اعلان

During his chairmanship of a meeting held on Wednesday, where a roadmap for updating the public sector regarding the transformation of the Civil Service Bureau into the General Service and Administration Authority was discussed, he emphasized the need to preserve the role of the bureau and develop its tasks.

According to Jo24, Shdeifat added that the parliamentary committee is concerned with following up on the plan to develop the public sector, emphasizing the need to improve and uplift the public sector.

He explained that the committee is interested in meeting with all relevant parties and ministries involved in merging, abolishing, and updating.

Various members of parliament also stressed the necessity of improving the performance of public sector employees, as well as enhancing and developing the tasks assigned to the Civil Service Bureau at the meeting.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of State for Public Sector Modernization Nasser Shraideh, Minister of State for Legal Affairs Nancy Namrouqa, the President of the Civil Service Bureau Sameh Al-Nasser, and the Director-General of the Institute of Public Administration Suhail Al-Khawaldeh.

Transition plan to update Civil Service Bureau
In response, Shraideh said that the plan to develop the public sector is extensive and clear, appreciating the role of the Civil Service Bureau during the past decades.

He indicated that the bureau will undergo significant updates in its role as part of a transitional plan designed for this purpose.

Regarding the Institute of Public Administration, Shraideh stated that the institute will also undergo development to serve its main objective of qualifying human resources to keep pace with global developments in various fields.

Shraideh also pointed out that a new human resources system will be issued in the near future concerning appointment and promotion processes, stating that there will be dialogues with the parliamentary administrative committee.

Name change roadmap for updating public sector
On her part, Namrouqa attributed the change of the name of the Civil Service Bureau to the General Service and Administration Authority to the outputs of the roadmap for updating the public sector and the expansion and change of its assigned tasks.

She added that within the plan to improve the performance of the Civil Service Bureau, it will not accept employment applications after 2027, and appointments will be made through open announcements.

Meanwhile, Nasser said that dialogues are taking place between various relevant parties to reach visions that meet the aspirations of the citizens.

As for Khawaldeh, she stated that the institute will witness an expansion of its role, contributing to the exchange of expertise, the development of human resources, and capacity building for employees.
