AMMAN — The Lower House of Parliament endorsed, during a session on Tuesday, the 2022 occupation license draft law for the Greater Amman Municipality, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.اضافة اعلان

The draft law is aimed at staying abreast with emerging professions, and to enable the adoption of new licensing systems, concepts, and practices.

The new legislation would replace the Occupational Licensing Law for Amman, 1985, and the Law on Fees for Professional Office Services for Amman City, 1977.

The amended legislation enables individuals to practice certain professions at home, with exemption of 50 percent of due fees and a three-year grace period as of the date of being granted license.  It also allows professional practice in buildings, public spaces and parks as well as in virtual office spaces, and vehicles, among others.

The law excludes certain entities from obtaining a license to practice within the Amman municipality, such as; political parties, trade and professional unions, commerce and industry chambers, charities, cooperatives, business associations, and non-profit companies.
