Australian government’s decision to stop moving its embassy to occupied
Jerusalem, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The House said in a statement on Wednesday that the
decision reflects the Australian government’s commitment to international
legitimacy, and to Security Council resolutions related to the Arab-Israeli
conflict, specifically the two-state solution.
The House views this step as an affirmation that the
Zionist occupation lacks legitimacy, and that occupied Jerusalem is the capital
of an independent Palestinian state on national Palestinian soil, the statement
said.
The House also affirmed Hashemite custodianship over
Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites, and reiterated Jordan’s “firm” position
vis-à-vis the Palestinian people and their right to establish an independent
state.
The House also expressed its appreciation to the Australian government
and people for this “courageous” step.
