Israeli occupation forces and settlers’ attacks on
Palestinians in the city continued for days, resulting in multiple injuries
among young Palestinians.
The lawmakers’ call was made during the meeting of the
Palestine Committee at the Lower House, during which members agreed on a series
of measures to end the plight of Jerusalemites. The meeting was attended by
Director of Al-Aqsa Affairs at the
Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Abdul-Sattar Al-Qudah.
The committee plans to address Arab and international
parliaments with an appeal to support the Palestinians and will arrange visits
to committees concerned with Palestinian affairs at peer legislatures.
In addition, it was announced that a conference will be
held to mark Jordan’s centenary, focusing on the role of the Hashemites in
defending holy shrines in East Jerusalem.
Qudah briefed the meeting on the situation at
Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, where Jordan acts as the custodian over these sacred
places, including the management of religious endowments.
