Local reports said 91 lawmakers out of 103 who attended the closed-door meeting voted in favor of the decision.
The penalty required the consent of 50 percent of the attending legislators’ votes plus one.
The House meeting was held amidst strict police measures to prevent unwanted reactions by Ajarmeh's supporters, who took to
social media in his defense with an Arabic hashtag "We are all Osama Al-Ajarmeh".
The deputy angered his colleagues on Wednesday with insulting statements and was supposed to apologize to the House, but did not, triggering a motion against him.
Ajarmah also claimed in his remarks that the nationwide power outage on May 21 was planned in order to prevent the solidarity marches of the tribes, which were called to support Palestine and join a rally near the Israeli embassy in Amman.
