Amman - The progress report for the Economic Modernization Vision (2023-2025) has outlined key advancements in the information and communications technology sector during the first half of 2024.اضافة اعلان

The report highlighted significant milestones in the digital transformation program, including the digitization of 290 government services out of a target of 480 for 2024. This brings the total number of digitized services to 1,273, representing 53 percent of the overall goal.

Additionally, the establishment, operation, and updating of six new government service centers in Irbid, Tafilah, Aqaba, Zarqa, Karak, and Abdali were achieved during the first half of the year, raising the cumulative total to eight centers.

Efforts to enhance internal and unified systems within government institutions are ongoing. The second phase of the national billing system is being developed in collaboration with the Income and Sales Tax Department, with preparations underway for launching a tender for the integrated tax revenue system.

Under the "Youth, Technology, and Jobs" program, notable progress includes employing 40 percent of beneficiaries from training programs facilitated by the Digital Skills Association.

The Jordan Growth Project (Kafaat) has signed agreements with 14 companies to support them through salary grants, aiming to create 300 new jobs.

The Jordan Growth Project (Business Development) has surpassed its target by signing with four companies to support their expansion, while four companies have been engaged to train beneficiaries on freelance platforms.

In the Startup Support Project, a contract was signed with an intermediary company to assist 20 start-ups, with support for an additional 40 start-ups nearing completion. Furthermore, 165 individuals trained through the Digital Skills Association are now being employed.

The report also highlighted progress in developing alternative systems to ensure uninterrupted service delivery. Achievements include the activation of the identity verification system for citizens, residents, and foreigners using eye print technology for six government institutions, the completion of technical specifications for expanding infrastructure to support digital document issuance, and the implementation of various reserve systems and portals for secure government and private sector correspondence.
