AMMAN — The
Independent Election Commission (IEC) said Tuesday that it referred seven cases
to the public prosecutor on suspicion of violating vote secrecy during local
elections, without giving further details about the incidents, according to the
Jordan News Agency, Petra.

IEC spokesperson Mohammad Rawashdeh said
that an investigation is already under way in 16 cases suspected of
“influencing the will of voters by using black money (vote buying)”.
He added that nine cybercrimes, whose
nature or connection to the voting process was not disclosed, were also
referred to the pertinent authorities.
