IEC to amend law to match new tasks

AMMAN — Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) Khalid Al-Kalaldeh said that the commission would amend its law once the Parties' Law makes its amendment, in order to be able to establish a unit to supervise parties and follow up on their work, according to Jo24. The Lower House on Tuesday approved by a majority of more than two-thirds an amendment to the Constitution, whereby the Independent Electoral Commission is tasked with studying applications to establish political parties and following up on their affairs.
