The ministry added, “The occupation is
intimidating patients and medical staff in the hospital through the marches,”
Quds Press News Agency reported.
“The [forces] are firing intensively towards the
hospital’s departments and courtyards, targeting anyone who moves.” It pointed
out that “the occupation is seeking to take the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital out of
service in a new way, by targeting it with marching fire.”
The ministry confirmed that “the hospital’s exit
is a death sentence for thousands of wounded people and patients in the central
region.”
Earlier, Doctors Without Borders announced that
it was withdrawing its staff from the central area of the strip, including the
Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, due to the IOF's continuous shelling of that area.
The coordinator of emergencies at the
organization in the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, Carolina Lopez, said, “With a
heavy conscience, we must evacuate our staff, while the patients and hospital
staff, and many people looking for safety in the hospital buildings, remain.”
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation
has been waging its aggression on Gaza, with American and European support. Its
planes are bombing and destroying hospitals, buildings, towers, and homes of
Palestinian civilians. They also have prevented the entry of water, food,
medicine, and fuel into the strip.
The war on Gaza has killed a total of 22,835
people and injured 58,416.
