AMMAN — The average consumer price index rose 4.22
percent from 102.36 in the period of January to November in 2021 to 106.68 in
the same period in 2022, a Department of Statistics report said, according to
Al-Mamlaka TV.

Key commodities that contributed to the rise included fuel
and electricity, which rose by 24.66 percent; transportation, which rose by
5.73 percent; rent by 2.38 percent; culture and entertainment by 9.50 percent;
and dry and canned vegetables by 6.57 percent.
Inflation in November increased by 4.99 percent compared to
the same month last year, rising from 103.06 to 108.19, the report said.
The department attributed the rise mainly to fuel and
electricity, which rose by 35.32 percent; rent by 4.48 percent; transportation
by 4.63 percent; dairy products and eggs by 7.67 percent; and culture and
entertainment by 10.51 percent.
