AMMAN — The Information and Communications Technology
Association (
Int@j) on Monday announced the launch of Jordan’s first cyber
security incubator “Himaya Tech”, scheduled for mid-June.

According to an association statement, the incubator will be
managed by Int@j and the start-up council, in cooperation with Zain Jordan and
the zinc incubator. It will receive support from the Jordan Entrepreneurship
Fund.
Int@j CEO Nidal Al-Bitar said the project will be the
Kingdom’s “first step” towards investing in cyber security.
Sami Smairat, representative of the private sector in the
National Council for Cyber Security said that the security sector has numerous
opportunities in way of creating an integrated cyber security ecosystem.
