The visit is to follow up on directives to upgrade service and facilitate movement of people and cargo via the crossing, the main gateway for Palestinians to the Kingdom and the world, said Faraya.

The minister was also briefed on expansion work of the main road leading to the bridge and setting up a passenger departure and arrival center and yards for incoming and outgoing trucks, including a truck parking lot in an area not far from bridge facilities.

Faraya also called on a plastic recycling plant in the Jordan Valley town of Deir Alla, a project implemented by the Interior Ministry in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program and the local municipality, which will be completed next month and will create dozens of job opportunities.
