Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya and Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Shimazaki Kaoru on Sunday discussed means to develop bilateral ties in fields of mutual interest, mainly in security and the economy, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Faraya highlighted the distinguished
Jordanian-Japanese ties, and the need to make the most of both countries’ knowledge of counter-terrorism, which often stems from difficult economic conditions and the lack of job opportunities, in order to achieve regional and global peace and stability.
The minister reiterated that Japan is a strategic partner for Jordan, praising the Japanese support for the national economy in facing regional crises, and calling for a higher level of economic cooperation and investment as Jordan is becoming an attractive environment for foreign investors.
The envoy valued the Kingdom’s remarkable development process across all levels, voicing his country’s willingness to push forward bilateral cooperation to serve the interests of the two countries.
