AMMAN —
Minister of Health, Firas Al-Hawari, emphasized the necessity for the international community to
contribute to providing support to Jordan to ensure the continuity of
quality healthcare services to both citizens and refugees with fairness.

He stressed that the decrease in required
funding, in light of the various crises the world is witnessing, makes it
difficult to maintain good health indicators.
He made these remarks during his
participation in the
Comprehensive Health Coverage meeting held as part of the
health events of the 78th session of the
United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA, on Thursday, Al-Mamlaka News reported.
Roadmap to comprehensive healthcare
He also pointed out that, in order to
achieve comprehensive health coverage, the Jordanian government has included
major initiatives in its
economic modernization vision to improve future
healthcare services for the population over the next ten years.
Their objectives, as explained by the
minister, include ensuring strong governance of the healthcare sector,
expanding the scope of basic public health functions, enhancing primary
healthcare, improving the quality of healthcare services, ensuring
financial sustainability of healthcare, enhancing healthcare human resources, establishing an
interconnected healthcare system, and integrating community participation in
healthcare policy-making.
