AMMAN —
The volume of registered Arab and foreign investments in public and private
free and development zones across the Kingdom reached 52.2 percent in 2021,
with a total of JD460 million in qualitative investments.

Speaking to the
Jordan News Agency, Petra on Sunday, Director-General of the
Jordan Free and Development Zones Group (JFDZG) AbdulHamid Gharaibeh said that Jordanian
investors ranked first by making up 52 percent of the total number of
investors, with investments amounting to JD415 million and 47.4 percent of the
zones’ registered capital.
Arab investors
ranked second, making up 45.1 of the total number of investors, with JD285
million in investments; 32.5 percent of the zone’s capital, followed by foreign
investors who make up 2.9 percent of the total number of investors, with about
JD176 million in investments, which represents 2.9 percent of the zone’s
capital.
As for the
investment contracts, Gharaibeh said that it reached 3,317 at the end of 2021,
categorized into industrial, commercial, tourism and service areas.
