AMMAN — There are
promising opportunities for Jordanian Information and Communications Technology (ICT) companies to leverage in Iraq, said Haitham Rawajbeh, the
representative of the
ICT sector at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC).

According to the
Jordan News Agency, Petra, Rawajbeh stated that the Iraqi government's drive
towards digital transformation presents a key market for Jordanian ICT
companies, given their expertise and qualifications for this transformation.
During a visit to
Baghdad by a Jordanian economic delegation on Friday, Rawajbeh said that
the Jordanian companies operating in the ICT sector held meetings with their
Iraqi counterparts to explore opportunities for joint cooperation. This
includes areas such as electronic signatures, cyber security, artificial
intelligence, and building digital capabilities for Iraqi government personnel.

highlighted that Iraq is fully aware of the capabilities and extensive
expertise of Jordanian ICT companies in the ICT sector, and their role in
providing solutions for digital transformation in the region, particularly in
Arab Gulf countries.
He added that the
JCC will work towards organizing a conference and exhibition in Iraq focused on
the ICT sector, with the aim of attracting both companies interested in the
Iraqi market and government institutions.
According to
Rawajbeh, Jordanian companies operating in the ICT sector have made significant
progress in terms of development and growth and now provide solutions to
various economic and service sectors in the region.
Additionally,
they have become major exporters of software services to many Arab and foreign
countries.
