IRBID – On Sunday, the Jordanian Judicial Council (JJC) launched the first phase of the electronic court filing project at the Court of Appeals in Irbid, Al-Ghad reported.اضافة اعلان

This project is part of the judicial sector's 2022-2026 strategic plan, which aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the sector's technological infrastructure. By leveraging modern technology, the project will accelerate and simplify litigation procedures, ultimately leading to more efficient justice delivery.

During the inaugural event, the project's main features were emphasized. The remote trial project was developed in partnership with the JJC, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), and the Public Security Directorate (PSD). Its implementation began in 2019, resulting in more than 9,000 remote experiments. This idea drastically lowered the costs of transporting detainees and accelerated legal proceedings.

Judge Dr. Noual Al-Jawhari, a JJC member and President of the Irbid Court of Appeals, has stressed digitalization's revolutionary impact on the justice sector. She compared the current situation to the pre-2000 age, emphasizing the significant progress made via the use of technology. This reform has increased the quality of judicial operations and sped up case resolution.

The official spokesperson for the JJC, Ali Al-Masimi, emphasized the importance of the electronic court filing project. It intends to completely transform paper-based judicial files to electronic format, allowing judges to examine case files remotely without the need for physical transfers. This strategy ensures the confidentiality of important papers and data.

The completion of this initial phase is the first step toward making judicial files available to legal representation and litigants. Notably, simultaneous archiving of judicial documents has been accomplished, allowing each judicial body to immediately archive trial procedures, evidence, and memos when the session has concluded.

As part of the 2023 achievements, the Technical Office was formed at the Court of Appeals in Irbid in the fourth quarter of the previous year. This office is critical in providing technical and administrative support to the judicial bodies of the court.
