AMMAN — The Irbid Chamber of Industry on Sunday reported that the Irbid governorate’s
revenue from exports rose by 43 percent, with the total value of the
certificates of origin for June hitting $116 million, compared to last June’s
$81.3 million, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The chamber
also stated that Al-Hasan Industrial City exported 96 percent of the
governorate’s total exports at $111.2 million, while Cyber City exported 3
percent at $4.3 million.
Exports
transported by the Arab Countries Agreement sat at $5.4 million.
According to
the head of
Irbid Industry Chamber, Hani Abu Hassan, the leather and textile
sector produced around 92.7 percent of Irbid’s total exports, touching a record
$107.8 million, while the therapeutic industries and medical supplies sector
brought $2.1 million.
He added that
exports to the United States reached more than $88 million, composing 76
percent of Irbid’s total exports, while exports to Arab countries only reached
6.6 percent.
