According to Jo24, the ministries had always expressed
reservations about the project, and their latest decision is just the first
step in the process.
Kofahi expressed his disappointment over the decision,
saying that the project would have greatly served the municipality by reducing
traffic congestion and facilitating the movement of citizens between the city,
the University of Science and Technology, the King Abdullah I Hospital, and the
Industrial City.
Rejection unjustifiedHe added that the rejection appears to have been made
without proper study, and he is surprised by the decision. The mayor emphasized
that the Irbid Municipality will submit new studies supported by documents to
obtain approval for the implementation of the project.
Rail Transport is the Future
Kofahi further argued that all cities around the world are
moving towards rail transport to reduce traffic congestion and develop
transport within their parameters, saying that the rejection is surprising.
