AMMAN — The Director of the Agricultural Loan
Institution in Irbid, Omar Bani Hamad, stated that the institution is among the
state's most vital entities focused on social development, agricultural sector
enhancement, and boosting rural family incomes.

Bani Hamad added on Monday that Irbid
Governorate and its environs are predominantly agricultural. The institution
has played a significant role in advancing this crucial sector and supporting
farmers through loans to develop and upgrade their farming practices,
ultimately improving the livelihoods of middle-income families dependent on
agriculture, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
He highlighted that in 2023, the institution
disbursed a total of loans worth JD3,111,243, benefiting 629 farmers. These
loans encompassed projects targeting poverty alleviation, tackling
unemployment, rural financing, and empowering women, in collaboration with Zaha
Center and the Rural Business Project (Mujatarat).
Regarding the current year, Bani Hamad
explained that loans amounting to JD700,000. This includes loans for poverty
and unemployment projects totaling JD300,500, as well as rural finance projects
amounting to JD142,500, up to March 20.
In 2023, the institution successfully
collected a total of 3,068,681 dinars from project loans, achieving a
remarkable collection rate of 99%. Additionally, the institution's collections
for this year up to March 20th reached 619,106 dinars.
Bani Hamad concluded by affirming that the
Agricultural Loan Institution will remain steadfast in its support for the
agricultural sector and farmers, actively contributing to the construction of a
prosperous and advanced agricultural industry.
