Israeli court extends ban on Jordanian MP's lawyer meetings

AMMAN — Jordanian Lower House deputy Imad Al-Adwan remains in Israeli custody and has been prevented from meeting with his lawyers. اضافة اعلان

An Israeli court has extended the ban on such meetings for another three days, according to the MPS lawyers.

Adwan was arrested on April 23 on charges of smuggling weapons and gold and has been held in the Ofer Military Prison. Israeli authorities have yet to file any official charges against the Jordanian deputy.

Jordanian ambassador's visitJordan's ambassador to Tel Aviv, Ghassan Al-Majali, accompanied by the consul at the embassy, recently visited MP Al-Adwan.

Sinan Al-Majali, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, said that during the visit, Adwan assured the ambassador that he was in good health and had not been subjected to any abusive practices, either physically or psychologically.

The deputy asked the ambassador to reassure his family that he was in good health.
