Toukan pointed out that the two countries
seek to develop the use of nuclear energy in economic and social development,
such as for generating electricity and desalinating water using integrated
small nuclear reactors, in addition to other peaceful nuclear fields and
applications, including industrial and medical.
Toukan’s comments came in the context of talking about
the Jordanian-Saudi relations in the field of nuclear energy, which was
embodied in an agreement to train the cadres of the Modern Nazaer Manufacturing
Company in Saudi Arabia to deal with radioactive sources of iridium 192 in the
Jordan’s research and training reactor, which was signed on Tuesday, at the end
of the activities of the Saudi-Jordanian Business Forum.
