AMMAN — Representatives from the
Jordanian National Center for Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases Control (JCDC) joined other national public health institutions from around the world
at a consultative workshop on preparedness and response to public health
emergencies, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The workshop was held on March 14–15
at the
World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
The workshop provided a platform for
national public health institutions to advise, coordinate, and lead
in case of emergencies, according to a statement issued Wednesday.

Representatives from countries all
over the world shared their experiences and practices, with a focus on
conducting joint monitoring programs, ensuring safe clinical care, and
coordinating responses in emergencies.
Muhammad Yahya, Secretary-General of the JCDC, participated in the gathering and spoke about the challenges facing
Jordanian public health institutions in terms of preparedness and response to
emergencies, as well as the efficiency of their staff.
